I’m Letting Love Begin With Me: Pouring Back Into Myself

A collage of self care routines

February 1, 2026 | Daphne Oh

"Self-love doesn’t mean I have it all figured out. It means I’m showing myself grace while I grow."

So, they say February is the month of love. Well, I have decided to slow down and pour a little more love into myself. I always see January as a month to reset. A time for being quiet, reflective, and grounding. However, February feels a little softer and warmer in spirit. It's an invitation to care for myself more deeply, more intentionally, and without guilt.

This month, I’m choosing self-care not as a trend, but as a lifestyle. I’m choosing self-love not as vanity, but as stewardship of the life God has given me.

Caring for My Body Is Becoming an Act of Gratitude And Love

Lately, I’ve been learning to see physical self-care as an act of gratitude. Taking care of my body isn’t about perfection. It's about presence.

My skincare and beauty routines have become quiet rituals. Washing my face slowly instead of rushing. Moisturizing with intention. Taking time to care for my hair. Wearing clothes that feel comfortable and make me feel confident. These small acts remind me that I am worthy of care, even on the busiest days.

It’s not about looking a certain way. It's about the feeling of taking care of myself. When I treat my body gently, my spirit follows.

I’m Learning to Move Through Life with Care and Intention

Mental self-care has truly transformed my life. Being mindful, fully present in the moment, has helped me release so much unnecessary stress. I no longer rush through my days on autopilot. Instead, I pause. I breathe. I choose INTENTION!!

Being intentional with how I start my mornings, how I respond to challenges, and how I protect my peace has made a noticeable difference in my mental wellness. February reminds me that slowing down doesn’t mean falling behind. It means living fully.

Everyday moments matter. And how I move through them matters too.

I’m Nurturing My Spirit Through The Things I Enjoy Most

Some of my deepest moments of self-care come from the things I genuinely enjoy.

Journaling has become my safe space. A place where my thoughts can land freely. Writing helps me process emotions, release worries, and recognize growth. It's one of my favorite ways to practice mindfulness.

Music is another source of comfort. Whether it’s worship music, soulful melodies, or songs that bring back memories, music has a way of calming my heart and lifting my spirit. I often listen to music while I'm journaling, cleaning, cooking or doing nothing at all. As a matter of fact, I'm listening to some of my favorite tunes as I write this blog 😁

Cooking grounds me. There’s something healing about preparing a meal, nourishing my body, and sharing food with those I love. It’s creativity, care, and comfort all in one. It's also some form of ASMR for me. I can't really explain it. I get in my thoughts while cooking and they are usually good thoughts. Plus, I love food and to eat, so there's that lol 🤣

Walking, especially in quiet moments, has become a form of meditation for me. Each step clears my mind, helps me breathe deeper, and reminds me that life doesn’t have to be rushed to be meaningful. I also get into my thoughts while walking. If there are any problems or obstacles that I'm facing, walking usually helps me gather those thoughts together and process them in a calm and intentional way.

Faith Is The Thread Running Through Every Part Of My Life

At the core of everything I do is my relationship with God. Over time, that relationship has strengthened in ways I never imagined. God is my guide. He leads me in all that I do, even when I don’t have all the answers.

I lean on Him for direction, for peace, and for reassurance when life feels uncertain. I’ve learned that true self-care for ME includes spiritual care…prayer, trust, and surrender.

I’m deeply grateful for all that God has done in my life and all that He continues to do. His presence has been constant, His grace unwavering. And knowing that I’m never walking alone gives me a peace that no routine ever could.

A Note to Myself

As February unfolds, I’m choosing to love myself more intentionally. To listen to my body. To care for my mind. To nurture my spirit. To rest without guilt. To create without pressure.

Self-love doesn’t mean I have it all figured out. It means I’m showing myself grace while I grow.

This February, remember:

You deserve care.

You deserve peace.

You deserve joy.

Continue to walk gently.

Continue to trust God’s guidance.

Continue to love yourself the way He loves you, fully and faithfully.

February 2026 isn’t just another month on the calendar. It’s another opportunity to choose myself, honor my journey, and move forward with intention, gratitude, and love.

I could tell a strong faith in God was behind this beautiful post. The gratitude you have for the gift of life and the intention behind your choices make it clear you are in touch with your spirit as much as you are mindful of your body. Thanks for sharing ❤️
